Big Game Preview
Following a bye weekend, Mike Rayer’s side will be hoping to continue momentum from the London Scottish victory two weekends ago in what is their first fixture of the second half of the campaign.
Blues sit in 5th position at Christmas but will be looking to close the gap on the top four when facing two sides currently occupying those positions, in Jersey and Doncaster, this holiday period.
Harvey Biljon’s Islanders moved to second place with their own bonus point victory over Scottish last time out. Bedford and Jersey are the highest scorers in the league behind leaders Ealing, so it’s set to be another close encounter at the home of the Blues.
COVID Compliance
The Club have implemented additional COVID risk management procedures in line with government guidance to ensure the safety of attendees at Goldington Road, including the compulsory entry requirement of a COVID Vaccine Passport or negative lateral flow test on the morning of the game.

Festive Feast of Rugby
There’s no better base than Goldington Road for a full day of sport with several mouth-watering fixtures available to watch on the TVs at the club. Before the main on pitch event, Premier League title challengers Liverpool take on Leeds United from 12:30pm at Anfield.
Then afterwards, Premiership rugby returns to the West Country as Bath go in search of their first victory this season when they host rivals Gloucester at The Rec. Both games will be shown in The Eagle Bar and Scrum Bar, as well as The Dovecote Park Suite for hospitality guests.
Food, Drink and Entertainment – New Marquee Tent Erected
With 4,500 supporters coming through the turnstiles and multiple checks on the gates, we are encouraging all supporters to head to Goldington Road as soon as possible to avoid lengthy queues.
Gates will open from midday on Sunday, and there’s plenty of reason to head down early and sample everything we have to offer! Why not grab a programme and visit one of our 10 public bars, with the added extra of this week’s guest ale, Bah Humbug available in The Eagle Bar.
Elsewhere, visit the Mini Fan Village with additional marquee tent on the North Terrace between the SDC Suite and Former Players to try our Coffee and Cake Horsebox, New Large Trailer Bar or returning Sweet Truck before getting set for the big match.
On the opposite side of the ground, our new Chalet Bar next to The Burrow will be joined by a Mulled Wine and Estrella Bar to keep supporters refreshed this festive season!
Post-match, Marc James is back by popular demand with live music in The Blues Marquee into the evening!
There will be four Hot Food outlets available on matchday spread out across the ground; the Scrum Bar Serving Hatch, The Bedford Barn, The Burger Hut and Peckish Festival Food at The Burrow.
PLEASE NOTE: The Scrum Bar will be OPEN throughout the day and will not close early as in previous matches as a red zone due to players receiving grab and go food from the changing rooms.
