Big Game Preview

Both sides will take to the hallowed turf hunting their first victory of 2024 after frustrating near-misses in recent weeks.

Blues are still in the top four fight and will see two successive home matches as an opportunity to regain form and solidify their position, with Cornish Pirates to follow next weekend.

Bryan Redpath’s resurgent Scottish started this season with some tough losses, but after beating Ealing and running Coventry close last weekend, they will prove tricky customers as they seek to climb from the lower echelons of the table.

It’s a fixture with a lot of history dating back more than 90 years and Blues will be looking to defend their slender advantage in the series. They lead 42 wins to 39; with three draws.

Food, Drink and Entertainment

With a large attendance expected, head to the ground early to avoid the queues and sample everything on offer. Grab a programme from the gates and visit one of our seven public bars; our choice would be upstairs in The Rebel Bar serving our trio of Real Ales as announced yesterday.

Elsewhere, those looking for a speedy pint can try Swipestation in the Scrum Bar, enjoy traditional surroundings of the Former Players Bar or visit any of the external bars around the ground.

This Friday we will also be joined by the Brewpoint campervan, playing DJ tunes from gates opening and giving away some free Genesis Bedford Stout t-shirts. Head over to meet the team!

The mini fan village remains ever popular with the usual offering of No.7 Coffee House Mobile Truck and The Cocktail Box (also selling soft drinks), alongside the Dunster House Bar and Burger & Sausage Hut.

Elsewhere there are three other food outlets available: the refurbed catering unit by the main gates, Taylor’s Kitchen at the Scrum Hall and The Burrow serving hatch after kick off.

After the match, head to The Rebel Bar for the continuation of ‘Final Whistle’ featuring the Man of the Match interview with Sam Roberts or straight into the CMC Marquee with live music from local favourite, Joe Bygraves to kickstart your weekend.

Blues Foundation Guard of Honour

This week’s welcome tunnel, sponsored by Bellway Homes, will Northill CE Academy. Make sure you support their pupils with a warm Bedford welcome as they step out onto the pitch to form the pre-match entrance.

Blues Women

After winning the NC2 Midlands (South) Division title last weekend, Blues Women will complete a Lap of Honour at half-time to celebrate their brilliant accomplishment. Give them a cheer en route.
